Writing Practice
I got a writer’s toolbox today and it is full of writing exercises to do daily. I think for awhile I will do them here in my blog. Since I don’t have much traffic to this page anyways :) Today’s was on a tattoo.
What comes to mind when I think of a tattoo? Well the first possible thought was my God Daughter’s tattoo. It is a green heart with Precious on it. We joked with her, at least we would be able to know it was her if we had to identify her body ever. It is very tasteful and small. It fits her, she is a green girl. Now today in McDonald’s was a totally different story. This big guy, and I do mean BIG gentleman was in there in a sleeveless t-shirt. Yes I know it is February, remember I am in Georgia. Other than the fact I was grossed out by his size and all that was bared in that t-shirt. He had the expanse of his upper arm tattooed with a flower boquet that said “Mother”. It was a really nice tattoo. Very colorful and not one of the fly-by-night things you see done, it just didn’t go with it’s owner at all. It really surprised me.
Now I have seen quite a bit in my years and it amazes me that some of these things still surprise me. I was thinking the whole time, that is a newer tattoo. It isn’t faded or stretched and it is such a feminine tattoo for this big guy to be having on his arms. My friend Lisa in the army, had a gorgeous tattoo of a purple rose on her shoulder blade when we were in school. It was very feminine and fit her to a T. This guy just surprised me. And I think I have seen a lot of tattoos. Both my ex-husbands have them. The first one wanted my name put on his! I am so very glad I didn’t let him. Sorry, I don’t want my name permanently etched on someone skin! The thought of it is revolting.
Why didn’t I ever get one? A friend and I recently talked about this. I just don’t think I could take the pain. I am such a chicken when it comes to self-inflicted pain. My belly button isn’t pierced either, though I was told that would be very sexy. Maybe some day when I am back down to 120 pounds I will get that done, and have a heart tattooed in a spot only someone really close to me will see!

I love my tattoos. I want more!!! lol I think I may have a new addiction.
