I have blogged about this in the past. Even written an article or two. I love traveling with my kids. We have so much fun. The girls and I recently went to Texas. It was a short trip, but loaded with lots of great adventures. Our destination was San Antonio, Texas.

We had a couple of options on where to stay when we got there. We thought of getting a vacation rentals. Either way there are a few essentials to look for when considering where to stay. Especially when you are a woman alone traveling with two preteen girls.

There are certain things you need to look for when considering where to stay when you travel. Besides just how much is it going to cost me. Making sure it has all the amenities that you want. Is there a pool or a beach? How far is it away from someplace to grab a bite to eat? Is there the recreation around that you want? Is it close to the things you want to do on vacation?

The internet is a wonderful tool. With vacation rentals you can actually see what you are getting before you get there. It also is a great personal feel instead of a cold impersonal hotel room. Take a look and see if you like the looks. Mapquest it and see if it is in a desirable location.

And remember no matter where you decide to stay security is always an issue when traveling with your kids. Make up safety code words for your kids. Tell them what to do in case of emergency.

Traveling is fun. Get out there. Enjoy seeing the country. Taking your kids with you can make great memories! Isn’t that what it is all about?
