Monday Motivational - March 31
Today is the last day of March. Where has the time gone? Easter has passed, so has the first day of spring. I look outside my window and what do I see?
Well at this moment it is raining. Just a bit of a drizzle, but it is making everything look so green. I have a tree outside my window and that is basically all that I see is that tree, but it gives a beautiful green to everything. And it blocks out the neighbors yards and houses.
Many people are still having snow. And sometimes I look out my window and picture that. Hard to do in Georgia, but I still do. I am a northern girl. I love to ski, and you know I wouldn’t even mind the occasional snow shoveling chore. So I would enjoy seeing snow outside my window.
How does this motivate me this last day of March? Well let’s see…
I read somewhere that the hardest part of the writing is the thinking. When you see a writer staring out the window, admiring the view, guess what? They are thinking. Who knows what out there will inspire me. It may be that little blue bird that come by periodically, or the gecko that climbs up the screen on my window. Thank goodness he is on the outside! I am really glad I have that window. I don’t work as well when I can’t look outside, even if all I am looking at is the tree with the rain coming down.
Looking inside is great too. My house is clean today. We had company over the weekend so everything is nice and tidy. It was a bit of a disaster, so seeing it all picked up makes me a bit motivated. Even more so was yesterday when I was cleaning. I found 3 pairs of my daughters socks underneath the desk of her computer. Now you are probably wondering why that would motivate me? I could hear my Daddy saying to me, “Judith! I can tell where you spend your time, by where I see your socks!” Reminded me how much my daughters are just like me!
Motivation on Mondays is sometimes hard to find. Look around you. Surround yourself with things you love and the reasons for doing what you do. Don’t have a window in your work area? Put up pictures of loved one. Go out and buy yourself a poster of a nice scene that you like and put it where you wish your window was.
Have a great week! I hope you stay motivated all week long! I know I am going to try!!!

Great post! One of the reasons I love our “new” home is the fabulous windows looking out on our backyard. It’s a sanctuary but the beauty and the solitude really do cause me to think and the few minutes of peace help to get me motivated for the rest of the day!

So, the pile of bills in front of me is staring in my face and they need to be paid which means i have to work. AHHH!
