It’s everywhere!

I have to tell you that once I decided to count how many credit card offers I got in a month. After week 2 I gave up I had so many. The thing about it is, I don’t have good credit. Imagine someones mailbox that does! Jimminy Christmas!

Interest free credit cards do exist and are often the carrot used to lure people in. But READ the fine print. These are only for a specific time, 3 months, 6 months,a year if you are lucky.

Me? I am doing all I can to pay off the credit cards that I have. I refuse to make a move with this mountain of debt hanging over our heads. I do understand the need to have one though. A REAL emergency. Check out a credit card guide. This list cards and their pros and cons. A handy little list.

Another thing I have known people to do, which is great in theroy is credit card transfer. You have a credit card with a high interest rate so you transfer it to a zero or low introduction rate. With all the good intention of paying it off before that interest rate sky rockets. I like this theroy. Really I do. But what is the saying, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”?  I know me, and most people I think, would carry a lot of this debt over to past the interest free point. And while you have saved money on interest you still owe the money.

Sit down with a budget and figure ou t how you can pay off your debt. Then stick to it. That may be hard. I have blogged about this before. Face your credit card debt, or just debt in general. That is the hardest step there is. ANd then move on and stick to your plan. It will work. Honest!

  1. Just transferred my 2 credit cards balance to a 0.00% interest cc that stays that way for a year, until Nov. 08 I am hoping to pay off a big chunk between now and then. I hate cc and I am done with them.
