Do You Take You-Time?

After reading Cara’s blog post Is Your Face Done? and hearing another WAHM ask if she could have a day off, I really started thinking.

WAHMs can always be at work. Many get up, get the kids dressed, feed and ready for school and sit down and start to work. They put in long hours. If they aren’t working they are working. You get this if you are a WAHM. So many things need to get done. The dishes, the laundry, helping little Jimmy with his science project are all on the list. A WAHMs job is never done.

But sometimes you have to tell yourself it’s ok to take some You-Time.  Like Cara says, put some makeup on. Do your hair. Do something for yourself that makes you feel good.  Do some great family activity.  I have to admit my computer just got turned on after a 24 hours of being turned off. I know in the middle of the week, ain’t life grand? Gathered up the family and went to the beach yesterday. I didn’t even turn it on when we came home last night. There was no work for any one in this house for 24 hours.

So if you find yourself asking to take a day off, say yes. Maybe you only need an hour or so. Go get a mani/pedi, go for a walk, do something specifically for you.

When you sit back down to your computer or your work area, you will find yourself a bit more renewed. Getting your mind off your job will help you refocus and energize. I mean after all you are a work at home mom so you can get the best out of life!

Monday Motivation Apr 21

Yeap it’s that time again, and while I missed last week I am determined to get this Monday Motivation in on time!

Determination!

Sometimes that is what it takes to get your motivation going. Plain old fashioned determination. And this morning I have it in spades!

I have lots of projects that I need to get going and get out of the way. I have writing projects, a new website to launch, and that hasn’t even started to mention the fact that I have a yard sale this weekend and tons of stuff to sort through in the next 6 weeks.

It has come down to that point that determination is definitely part of getting me motivated. There are many things that motivate us. Different things for different people. Some may find success and the admiration of peers their motivation, others have motivation of making their families proud, mom, dad, spouse and kids. Others may just have the motivation of paying the bills. It may be a combination of all of the above.

And some, like me, have their motivation change from day to day. Different things get me out of bed every morning. This morning it was the fact that I need to get done with my writing in three days this week instead of five, because Friday I am getting ready for another (and last) yard sale. And Wednesday we are going on a day trip to St Augustine, Florida. That’s right! I am going to be laying on the beach, soaking up the rays.  I may take a stroll around the quaint little shops as well.

But this does give me the determination to get it all done. To do a great job, so I can enjoy my day off in the sun.

Determination …

What’s you Monday Motivation???

Somethings just plain ole confuse me

Facebook is one of them. Now I keep hearing how this is a great tool for WAHMs and small business. As of yet I am still very lost.

One thing that has helped is Chrysanthemoms 5 Tips to a Better Facebook. This is helping me iron out some of the kinks.

So far I have friends, but no real connection that will help me business wise. There is however a ton of great groups that have such great information in them. Though staying on top in information in groups is a bit difficult. And it seems that every time I turn around I am getting request for more.

Stop by Chrysanthemoms 5 Tips to a Better Facebook and she will help you figure out some of the things on Facebook. There are also some great other articles and tips there to, so nose around a bit while you are there!
