What’s Your Motivation This Week?

It’s the beginning of a new week. What is motivating you this week? I blogged last week about your to do list, this week I am wondering what motivates you to keep being a WAHM from week to week.

I know a lot of us are going to say being able to stay at home with our kids. This is a very strong motivator for so many of us.

Moms are not the same today as they were when most of us were kids. No long the Mom at home keeping the house and the kids, while Dad was out earning the paycheck. Dinner on the table at 6PM sharp. Moms are out there taking kids to ballet and soccer, volunteering at schools and other venues. Moms are busy. Add a career and a traditional brick and mortar building and then you have a lot to do.

Moms want to be there for their kids. A lot of moms want to slow down that overwhelming pace. They want to be there for every little thing for each kid. This can be hard when trying to balance that 40+ hour a week job, house, children and husband.

So kids are a major motivator for moms to stay at home. But there are more motivators for many of us.

The motivator for some moms is to bring in an income. Things are expensive. It doesn’t matter if you stay at home or you work outside the home, income or an additional income can come in very handy. Working at home, on the internet, supplies a lot of wonderful opportunities for those that are in need of bringing in money. Money is a very powerful motivator.

Another very powerful motivator is the need to be productive. There are those moms who have to be creative and productive in society. The interaction with other moms. The thought that you are doing work that others out thee appreciate and get. As some mom told me the other day Talking and working with someone that understands more than crayons and Veggie Tales.

I guess this is the need to be more than a mom sometimes. We like to be seen as our own individual person. Not just Josh’s Mom. I am a writer, entrepreneur and yes I am Josh’s mom. Being a mom doesn’t define my whole personality. The internet provides moms with that opportunity to find this. They can be a full time mommy and be something else their dreams want to be also.

There are many other motivators out there. Knowing what motivates you will help you build your online business. It doesn’t matter if you are a freelancer, telecommute, or own your very own business finding your motivator will help you see where you are coming from.

Knowing where you are headed is the next step!
