The Mist

The Mist by Stephen King

OK I just watched the trailer for this movie and all I have to say is, wow. Talk about chills running down your spine, sit on the edge of your seat, downright scary! and that was just the preview?

We are Stephen King fans around here. I have been reading him since I was in high school. We are a culture that loves to be scared. He has a hit here with this one.

Put people together in a situation that they don’t know each other, and they have no idea what is going on and what is going to be the outcome and you have potential for scary in any given situation.

Stephen King is a great writer in the respect that he can scare the crap out of us, and still give us a happy ending. I would be hard pressed to choice my favorite novel. I could say I love the old ones such as Carrie and Pet Cemetary, but then he has some great recent ones such as Hearts in Atlantis. But if I had to choice just one I think it would have to be Salem’s Lot. An old one that I have read multiple times and still enjoy. That says a lot doesn’t it?Will we go and see this movie? While I will wait for DVD I am betting my 17 yo son is going to be going. I prefer to be scared at home, but will glean all the details from him. It looks to be an excellent scare! Go look at the trailers!! The Mist by Stephen King

Monday Vs. Productivity

I think I am fighting a losing battle here. Anyone else suffer from this? I know I know, It’s Monday, don’t ask such questions.

After a weekend off, and not doing much “work” at all, sitting down to try and start a project on a Monday morning is hard work all by its self. How do you get and stay motivated on a Monday morning.

Many people tell me it is just a frame of mind. Well in my mind it is hard work. I am a procrastinator by nature and my nature is telling me I have so much to do that I can’t possibly get done. This is just not the best frame of mind.

So what is the best way to start out a Monday morning to make it a great day, and the start to an awesome week full of productivity? Because you have to agree that the way you start your week often tends to set precidence for the rest of the week.

Last night I sat down and wrote down my list of things I wanted to accomplish this morning. So I know exactly which direction I want to go in.

Positive attitude. This goes a long way. I am going to have a good week and get lots of work finished and polished.

Enlist the support of your other work friends. Now mine are mainly other wahms like me, so I use Twitter, Message Boards and MSN. Surrond yourself with other positive people.

And if all else fails double the amount of expresso shots in your coffee this morning!

It’s going to be a wonderful week! I have a great idea for an ebook of my very own! I will have my two business sites up and running by the end of the week. My van is home. I will have a new dishwasher this morning. I have titles for my IC writing job. Life is good! And so is this Monday Morning!!!
