The Wolf’s Torment Book Signing

My friend SG Cardin has written a great book. I have read it, and impatiently waiting for the sequel! Today she is having a book signing online. How cool is that???

Here is the message she sent me about it. Don’t miss the chance to get a copy of The Wolf’s Torment!

Just wanted to let you know I’ll be hosting an internet book signing on my official messageboard tomorrow, Friday 2 NOV.  I’ll be popping onto the board at around 1000 am PST and I’ll be hanging out there all day. The signing is for my book, THE WOLF’S TORMENT. I’ll be offering a discount of $17.50 for the book and $5.00 shipping and handling USPS.  The book comes with an autograph and a bookmark.  I’ll be taking paypal and money orders.  I hope to see you there! Here’s a link to the page on my board talking about it.

This is a bit of a different concept

Printnpost, Get paid to Blog, make money using your adsense. This is a cool concept I think. It is a place to submit your articles.

They have certain guidelines. Such as it should be 400-500 words. You need a review paragraph and so on. Check out their site to see all the details.

The different angle is that you enter your google adsense information. So when someone reads your article and happens to click on the advertising, it goes back into your adsense account.

That is kind of different. I am not sure I would make a whole lot. I like that upfront payment. But I have to admit I have wondered how much these other sites are earning fromt he adsense with my articles. A lot more than they are paying me, I am sure.

Take a peak and let me know what you think. Printnpost may be worth looking into!

The importance of writing it down

Now I am a writer. I write things down. I am a list person too. I have lots of list. Things to do list, grocery list, packing list, you name it list. And yes I am that person that writes a grocery list only to get to the store and remember I left it on the counter.

But that isn’t where I am going this morning. I wanted to talk about the importance of writing down your business goals.

We have big dreams for our business. Some day we are going to have an office on the beach. We are going to have accounts telling us how much money we made this month and a maid and a cook. Yeap we are going to be successful.

Dreams are just that dreams. They will never materialize unless we sit down and make them into goals. Specific written down goals.

Now this isn’t as easy as it sounds. What we are dreaming about in our heads for our beloved business is often harder to get down on paper. Yes I want an office on the beach, but what specific goals are going to get me there. To have my book published and the next three on contract? See the difference?

So now I have a goal. To get my book published and the next 3 on contract. Well I just can’t pull that out of thin air. I have to break that down as well. I will write a chapter a week.

Ok better, but we know I will look at that and say, “next week”. So let’s do a bit of fine tuning. I will write a chapter a week until I have 21 chapters by April 30, 2008. (ok before you say I can’t count I gave myself a few weeks off for the busy holidays that I know I will be unable to write in.)

Writing them down with paper and pen makes them real. It has been shown that a person who has written goals is more likely to accomplish the goals.

Do you have dreams or goals?

Are your goals written down?

Are your goals specific enough to acheive?

Working on my goal list today!!!
