My addictions … Let me share with you

I have several addictions. The obvious ones, chocolate and coffee of course. The othere ones are news and blogging. As I sit here blogging I have on FOX News. My homepage prominant displays current news. I am addicted, and I really don’t want a 12 step program. I like being addicted.

So here is a great blog I have visited. Gimmie the Scoop. A blog full of news items! The Business Blog has the top 10 gadgets for business and consumers. This is right up my techie little creek. I love new gadgets. That transformer phone looks so cool! not to mention the VOIP phone. That Nokia cell phone looks almost as cool as my new LG ENVY. Gimmie the Scoop has other great categories to include news, real estate and finance. I have subscribed to their RSS feed and have added it to my daily reads. Just more information to go into  my head and give me more ideas for things to write on!

A few more hours in my day

Well due to things beyond my control I am going to have to push back my launch date. I can’t be in two places at once, so I am pushing back Soap of Course to Oct 15 and Market What You Make Unitl Oct 20th.

Why? Well I want to be at home when I launch it. I truly thought that I would be at least on my way home, but chances are now that I won’t. If I had a few more hours in a day, and if New York was closer to Georgia I may be able to pull it off.

I have a lot of people ask me how I do it. I have 3 kids at home that I homeschool, I work part time doing contract writing, I am starting a successful business (positive attitude there). This goes back to the last topic I think.

I think scheduling and to-do list are really key here. Carrie Lauth had a great article on her blog - A Monthly Schedule for Business Works for Me. I have to find a schedule that works for me.

No one schedule is right for everyone. But using someone elses as a framework for your own can be a big help, especially when you are first starting your schedule.

Finding a schedule or routine that is right for you and your business is key. And even if you work for someone else at home, you are still in business for yourself. Find that happy balance in your life!

Well I am off to find my balance for the day. It is Friday after all. And know that even though I am pushing back the date it will be up shortly!!!

What is a WAHM?

WAHM - another one of those pesky little acronyms that fly all over the web. WAHM - Work At Home Mom. But let’s be realistic, all moms work. It is part of the whole mommy gig.

We cook, we clean, we do laundry, and some of those of us out there hold down at home jobs to top it all off.

I love being my kids mom. It is my first and foremost job. But I also like being able to do something productive. Now before you say being a mom is very productive, it isn’t the same.

What do I mean? Well… I like to “do” things. I like to be productive. I may have a number of ways to bring in income. The most popular one with me and my kids is writing. It could be right here on my own blog, ghost writing for others or writing for Associated Content. It’s Mom’s “quiet” job.

I also make soap. I love this I love aromatherapy. I would love to be able to teach others to do this and more about aromatherapy.

My teacher in my business mastery class asked me how I stay focused on my holistic health goals in my business. This is a good question. Have I? or have I sold out for the money?

A question I have to think about.

Being a WAHM I can be and do anything I want to do. Let’s just be focused and smart about it. And the number 1 thing in WAHM?  is the MOM part!!!
