I need a phone card with a lot of minutes. I have a child in Europe. He calls home quite often. And I have to admit it is getting expensive.

Soooo … I am on the search for online phone card. With international rates. Something that is easy for me to recharge as well as him to recharge also.

What have I come up with? Pingo seems to have a lot going for it. Calls from Germany to the US are only 5.4 cents. that is pretty good. And it is all virtual too. So that works for me. The ease of use seems pretty good too.

See the way it works is this. He is getting a cell phone. I guess it is a German version of our pay as you go phones. With these you need to have phone cards to connect. I really don’t understand that, but … He has to have a German one to call Germany and a US one to call home. My son tells me that he can buy the other phone card there, I just have to help him get the US one.

This is all very confussing for me. Pingo seems to have taken a bit of the hassle out of it.

Now I did notice a few things. There is an extra charge for using a pay phone or a cell phone. But on the other hand if you use this code “ppp3” you will get $5 of free international calling. That’s not bad is it? I am going to give them a try. I will let you know how it goes. If you try this will you let me know to??  Thanks a bunch!
