Many times I seem to get caught up in the day to day life that I led that I forget to look around and see what is out there.
What makes you stop and inspires you to create?

This is what usually inspires me. Yes, that is my coffee cup. Bright, huh? But it does the trick. Most of my coffee cups are bright colored. I don’t know why, but they seem to suit my personality, go figure…
This morning I was inspired by an email in my inbox. It was from Crissy at IndieBizChicks.com. She is hosting a swag exchange. Check it out at Swag Exchange if you want. It does look like fun, but I am still sitting on the fence don’t you know…
But this whole concept got me to thinking, what a creative idea. I have done a few swaps in my time. They are always a lot of fun. You open the box up to find a whole treasure of things. It is like Christmas! Now this one is just for promotional items, but is still way cool. But you know me I would attach a business card to a bar of soap and off we would go.
The thing is I know others are doing this and I just wonder what creative ideas will show up in the Swag box? What attracts us to these things? Is it just having to know what is inside that box? I think so. But to be able to get your name and business out there may even surpass that.
Crafters have a hard time breaking even. Now Etsy has come a long way to help, but still we struggle. There are so many of us out there vying for every customer’s attention, and with the way the economy is today, many of those customers are saying, well why should I pay for that? I can do that!
This email has really inspired me this morning into thinking of the business end of my creative aspirations. I need to use my creativity to inspire all areas of my business. I need to learn just how to do that!
I would ask for comments, but as a follow up to yesterdays post all I got was 22 spams. Yes, I got spam comments on a post that asked not to spam me! Sigh… but if you have a real comment I would love to hear your input!
